Alabaster 3 stone pendant

This alabaster 3 stone pendant has inclusions of ancient fossilized algae and was extracted from West Michigan gypsum. The pendant is handcrafted and one of a kind, It is 3 1/2in in length and 1/2 in wide, wrapped in two tones of Copper wire. it includes an 18in adjustable leather necklace.
350 million years ago during The Mississippian period, seas covered Michigan. As waters came and went, altering the landscape and leaving deposits every time they did lagoons would form. These lagoons high in calcium and sulfate would evaporate leaving deposits, creating the gypsum that once was a major part of Grand Rapids. Ferns on the land and algae from the seas were fossilized in the gypsum and these are evident in the Alabaster we have extracted from it to create our 1-of-a-kind stone pendants.
