Joseph Szabo taught photography at a high school in Long Island from 1972 to 1999.
Mr. Szabo photographed his students, whether in class or not. Through his camera, he learned about and connected with his teenage students, which became essential for building trust. His efforts first took shape in the book "ALMOST GROWN," published in 1978.
