"La guerre est finie" (The war is over) is a dramatic movie directed by French director Alain Resnais in 1966 and starring Yves Montand, Ingrid Thulin, Geneviève Bujold and Michel Piccoli. A tormented love story, the classic triangle of he, she and the other that is interweaved with a turbulent political situation in 1965 in which the protagonist Diego is immersed, militant of the Spanish communist party. The public and private life of the man is musically underscored by Giovanni Fusco (usual composer of Michelangelo Antonioni) where a sweet and sad music mostly represented by the classic sound of the harpsichord, between sacred and profane, creates magic and suspended atmopheres. This CD besides the mono selections issued on the original RCA album, also contains all the recording in stereo sound recently rescued, digitally restored and remastered.
