This is a vintage EMPTY Ortho “Super Six” Spray-Ette – a classic hose-end sprayer from the 1970s–early 1990s, back when Ortho was owned by Chevron Chemical Company (the label even lists their old address: Ortho Division, San Francisco, Calif.).
What it is
A fixed-ratio venturi sprayer that screws onto any garden hose.
• You fill the plastic jar with Ortho concentrate (insecticide, fungicide, fertilizer, etc.).
• Turn on the water → it automatically siphons and dilutes the concentrate at 24 parts water : 1 part product.
• One full jar (≈32 oz of mixed liquid) sprays 6 gallons of ready-to-use solution up to 25–30 ft in a soft, rain-like stream.
That’s why it says “AUTOMATICALLY MIXES and SPRAYS 6 GALLONS of ORTHO PRODUCTS” on the front.
