10 pieces of genuine Ww2 copper and brass Drive-band/ timing ring shrapnel from a vickers QF 3.7 inch AA shell. The pieces in the picture are the pieces you’ll receive. This is all from shells that have been fired at German planes during the Battle of Britain, the blitz or German bombing raids over the Weymouth and Portland area in Dorset. Weymouth and Portland harbours were bombed a lot by the luftwaffe during the war due to a lot of military activity. Good display pieces for ww2 collectors, there’s a lot of history in these little pieces of bent up metal. These have all had a little clean up in a rock tumbler. All found by me over the years metal detecting in fields and the coastline. History of the QF 3.7 inch AA gun.. it was Britain’s primary heavy anti aircraft gun during ww2, it was roughly equivalent to the German 88mm flak and the American 90mm but with a slightly larger caliber of 3.7 inches. Production began in 1937 and it was used throughout the war in all theatres except the eastern front. I also have some more lots of AA shrapnel for sale on my page #4
